Class: Beginner PMC (Private Instruction)
Marissa was a wonderful instructor and clearly has extensive knowledge about her work. I learned a tremendous amount through demonstration and guided practice, and was given the tools and resources to be able to work independently. I had a blast! Marissa not only presented the materials in a very clear and concise way. She explained the reasons for using each one of them... several times! Her patience and willingness to go over the process more than once, and her way of letting me play but always keeping an eye on what I was doing made the class a truly enjoyable experience. One of the best classes I have taken. Marissa is very articulate, attentive, and very knowledgeable of her craft. It was a wondeful class it was well explain and develop. She has experience and is able to answer questions as they arise. I was very helpful the way she demonstrated the tecnique and then set everybody on task. Marissa is a fabulous teacher. She knows a great deal about her subject and her teaching and communications skills are excellent. I've taken several metalworking courses with several different teachers. This was my first introduction to PMC. Marissa is a top-notch instructor. She is also very happy to answer any questions that may arise after the course ends by either phone or e-mail. i have been working with metal clay for about 6 mos on my own from a dvd that came from my kit. i wasted clay at outrageous rate. i made some nice pieces but had lost half my clay. Marissa is a great instructor. She came well prepared with supplies for each student to successfully complete a number of jewelry projects and also brought a number of her creations with her which I found very inspiring. I had a fantastic time in both classes. Marissa is extremely knowledgeable & fun! I loved that she allowed each student to develop his or her own aesthetic while also giving us the essential information to create jewelry from home. Marissa was extremely helpful in all her instruction as well as very generous with her time. (Her husband Jim was a great support to the class, too!) It really makes you feel confident about learning more about PMC or investing in materials when you know you'll have a great resource person like Marissa for advice and suggestions! Wow! Marissa was awesome! This was definitely the best class I have ever taken. No doubt about it--Marissa loves what she's doing and it shows! Marissa is a great instructor. She was also very hypervigilant in her teaching technique which I found extremely helpful, i.e., stressing the need to lubricate hands well, and to moisten and seal clay properly between usage. Above all, Marissa has such exuberance about the PMC medium and the beautiful pieces that can be created with it which transcends to the student.
